A community-led verbatim piece about life under and after Section 28: a clause in UK law from 1988 - 2003 that prohibited local authorities from “promoting homosexuality”. Funded via the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bristol, with thanks to the London Metropolitan Archives and Off The Record.
Dreams of Freedom // Facilitator // Chickenshed Theatre, Amnesty International & Royal Albert Hall
Inspired by Amnesty International UK’s illustrated children’s book of the same name, Dreams of Freedom is the culmination of a two-year project working with children across London to create a new show that demands human rights for everyone. “Bringing 600 children together in such a life-affirming show must surely be the pinnacle of [Chickenshed’s] achievements to date.” - London With A Toddler, ★★★★

Currently, I’m part of the Royal Exchange Theatre’s freelance facilitator pool, where I run ad-hoc workshops in writing and devising for young people across Greater Manchester. Previously, I’ve worked with organisations including Burnt Orange Theatre, University of Bristol and Salford City Council - running workshops on performance, writing for stage and devising.

Facilitated specialist skills-development sessions around writing and devising for diverse groups of young people aged 13-18, and pitched new ideas to the wider team.
