Clodagh Chapman is a writer and director from London, currently based in Manchester.In theatre, Clodagh’s work has been longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, Theatre503 International Award and Papatango New Writing Prize. She was shortlisted for the Hodgkiss Director Award 2026 at the Royal Exchange Theatre, and has undertaken directing observerships on Il Trovatore and Boris Godunov (both Royal Opera House). In film, Clodagh’s debut short played in BAFTA-qualifying festivals worldwide, and she is currently in post-production on her next short for BFI NETWORK. She recently published her debut short story with Tough Poets Review.  

Alongside this, Clodagh also works as a dramaturg and programmer. She has read for the Bush Theatre, Royal Court Theatre and George Devine Award, and hosted panels and Q&#38;amp;As for the Almeida Theatre, HOME, BFI London Film Festival, BFI Flare, BFI Future Film Festival and Sheffield DocFest. Clodagh is a Programme Adviser at Sheffield DocFest.
Clodagh is a board member of Dramaturgs’ Network, and a BAFTA Connect member. She is an incoming PhD Geography (practice-related) student at UCL, funded by the SHS Arts and Humanities Faculty Studentship.
